Searching for Ron Britvich (part 2) (continued)
Roderick C. Moyes
RM: "Are you surprised it hasn't gone more that direction? It seems that there is still very little self governing going on."
RB: "I believe it's not a rich enough environment to enable that, or for people to even have the desire to do those things yet. It never got over the threshold of having enough power and capability to enable those things."
RM: "Do you think it will grow to the point when it does?"
RB: "No, I think that the current management doesn't have the vision to see the things that are needed to open the doors to making it that rich environment. It's like a soup that never got finished. There was a bunch of stuff I would have liked to do to it still."
RM: "So would you go back to it if you could?"
RB: "I think like most developers, after two or three years it's time to move on. I'm ready to move on now. I may revisit 3D space in the future, and hopefully there'll be new technology that will enable me to try things that I couldn't try back then. So, I'm not disappointed not to be working on it at this moment… but I reserve the right to re-enter that space at the right time."
DV: "At this point it would kind of like building on a house of cards."
RB: "Yeah, in fact I wouldn't even want to try and take the existing stuff and try to improve it. I would start over."
